Perfectability 101

“There are no perfect hockey players, unless you’re picking in the top three of the draft,” says Trevor Timmins.

But the Canadiens, the team for whom Timmins and his staff scout and nurture talent, haven’t had a top-of-the-draft pick since Doug Wickenheiser, a player whose career fell well short of perfection.

So Timmins et al work with what they have, 40 of whom have attended a development camp where they finally got to scrimmage today.

For the record, the Whites beat the Reds 7-4.

Dustin Walsh, a sixth-round draft choice who is off to Dartmouth in September, scored twice, as did P.K. Subban, a big fave with fans who jamed the stands of the Brossard training facility.

Timmins said about 20 of the players will be back for the Canadiens’ rookie camp later this summer.
